Banana Project Coordinating Committee Meeting

The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture along with stakeholders involved in the Banana Project, held its first Project Coordinating Committee (PCC) Meeting to discuss the PAGoDA Contract BAN/2017/390-022 “Productivity enhancement of banana farms through integrated soil fertility management in the banana belt area of Belize” progress of the project.  Present were Members from the European Union, The National Authorizing Office, The University of Belize, The Banana Growers Association and the Ministry of Agriculture. The main topic of discussion was the communication and visibility plan and the progress made since the implementation date of December 1 2017.

More than 200 representatives from 18 countries, plus 47 speakers, came together for the Third Pan-American Bioinputs Forum in Colombia, an event consisting of two days of technical and political dialogue and one day of field visits. It was a reaffirmation of the commitment of the Americas to more sustainable, competitive and science-based agriculture.
