IICA meets with key stakeholders for discussion of Banana Project funded by the European Union (EU)

On August 18 2017, IICA held a conference meeting at our Delegation to discuss the proposal and budget for the project: Productivity Enhancement of Banana Farms through integrated soil fertility management in the Banana Belt Area of Belize, with representative from the Banana Growers Association (BGA), University of Belize (UB), National Authorizing Office (NAO), and Ministry of Agriculture.  The meeting allowed to discuss the final proposal and make the necessary changes in order to send the project document ot the European Union for it’s final revision and approval. The overall objective of the project is to foster   social and economic development, leading to the reduction of poverty, focusing on workers, their families and communities in the banana belt area of Belize, and to increase the efficiency of banana production.
