IICA – CONACYT Scholarships offered to young professionals in DR
Dr. Franklin Marín Vargas, Coordinator of the Center for the Protection of Technical Capabilities and Leadership of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in his most recent visit to the Dominican Republic explained that the Government of Mexico with the collaboration of IICA are strengthening the technical capacities in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) countries on high priority issues for agriculture. Both institutions agreed to establish a strategic alliance with the National Council for Science and Technology (Conacyt) of Mexico. He indicated that the scholarships cover all the costs of the students who qualify (tuition, R&B, books, etc.) from their arrival in Mexico until they return to their countries of origin.
The IICA expert said that under the scholarship program for Dominican professionals there are masters and doctorates associated with technologies, agribusiness, innovation, food safety, marketing, climate change, agriculture and biotechnology.
