As part of the activities of the Competitiveness and Sustainability of Agricultural Chains Flagship Project carried out by IICA, the Forum “Marketing Schemes that favor the Linking of Cocoa Producers with the Market” was held in the Dominican Republic on November 16th & 17th, 2016 which included a tour of several of the cacao processing companies in the country.
Representatives of cocoa producer organizations and processors from Honduras, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Guatemala, Ecuador, Panama and the hosts of the Dominican Republic participated in this activity.
The objective of this activity was to promote the exchange of support models and examples of linkage of cocoa producers to the market to strengthen the institutions that support the cocoa chains in prioritized countries and was coordinated by Daniel Rodríguez, Leader of the Project
