Technical Support to an ongoing Agriculture Policy and Planning Process led by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Agriculture, Belize, with support from IICA.

The “Caribbean Action under the Programme entitled Agriculture Policy Programme (APP) “, intends to award a service contract to provide technical support to the Government of Belize, represented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Agriculture. The Technical support will involve liaising with, facilitating and accelerating the work of five (5) working groups created by the Ministry, each to address one pillar of its National Agricultural and Food Policy 2015 – 2030 in terms of defining policy measures and short, medium and long term targets and priories for each pillar. The final product will be an implementation plan for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Agriculture.

The contract will be managed by the IICA Delegation in Belize, on behalf of the CARICOM Secretariat, Guyana, funded under the 10th European Development Fund (EDF), and executed through a Contribution Agreement signed between the European Union (EU) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA). The APP is being implemented in collaboration with the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) and the CARICOM Secretariat (CCS).

The details of the Scope of Work will be circulated on Tuesday 8th March 2016. In the interim, interested and suitably qualified and experienced persons are invited to submit their Curricula Vitae (CVs) electronically by Friday March 11th, 2016, 15:00 hrs Belize time for the attention of:

 The contract will be awarded based on an assessment of the qualifications, relevant general and specific professional experience of individual consultants, in relation to the requirements that are specified in the Terms of Reference (to be provided).   All CVs must be submitted in English.

From erosion to harvest: an experience in soil recovery and productive diversification in Chile’s coastal drylands
