IICA intends to use educational and awareness-raising videos to provide valuable information about sustainable practices, new opportunities in agriculture, and innovation’s role in food production.

San José, 3 April 2025 (IICA). The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) has launched its channel on TikTok, the short-form video platform with more than 1.6 billion monthly active users worldwide.

The initiative is designed to broaden the dissemination of content on agriculture, innovation, and technology, and enable the organization to connect with new audiences, especially young people, and achieve its ultimate goal of fostering generational change in agriculture.

With a strong presence on other social media, such as Instagram, X and Facebook, IICA has consolidated its digital strategy to inform and raise awareness about the importance of the agriculture sector.

The organization decided to create a TikTok account in order to diversify its communication channels and harness the potential of a platform that will permit it to attract the attention of new generations.

To promote generational change in agriculture and position farming as a modern and prosperous high-tech sector, TikTok is becoming a key tool for disseminating knowledge about digital agriculture, science, technology, production, and marketing in an accessible, dynamic way for young audiences.

Roughly 71% of TikTok users are aged between 18 and 34, making it an ideal channel for inspiring future generations to play an active part in the transformation of the agriculture sector.

IICA intends to use educational and awareness-raising videos to provide valuable information about sustainable practices, new opportunities in agriculture, and innovation’s role in food production.

With this strategy, IICA aims to bring agriculture to a wider audience, fostering young people’s interest in the sector and promoting a modern, technological approach to agriculture.

The initiative also strengthens IICA’s commitment to the modernization and digitalization of agriculture in the Americas, adapting to current communication trends and strengthening the organization’s ties with future generations of agricultural professionals.
