Technical Forum on Green Intensive Farming Technologies, Saint Lucia
In the last 3 decades, significant resources were invested in green house structures and systems in the Caribbean without significant gains in productivity or reduction of crop losses.
The forum, being held under Component 2, will explore the scope, potential and relevance of green intensive farming technologies to the numerous small farmers in the region. Practitioners, researchers and service provider agencies engaged in green agriculture technologies will exchange and build their knowledge and capacities on existing technologies, as well as take the first steps in constructing a regional network/ p mechanism for the rationalization of regional financial and technical resources in this field.
The Intra-ACP Agricultural Policy Programme (APP) is a broad technical cooperation framework focusing on two regions: the Caribbean and the Pacific. The programme supports the reduction and eradication of poverty in the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries through sustainable development and successful integration of enterprises in these economies into national, regional and, where appropriate, global markets.
