As a first step, the two institutions have shared their vision, work plans for this year and are in the process of developing a work agenda 2016 – 2017 enabling the incorporation of strategic areas for the Dominican Republic agricultural sector to avoid duplication of efforts and seek synergies in technical cooperation.

Currently, IICA – FAO together with the World Bank are working together to present a project to government authorities to strengthen capacities in the management of water resources in the country, mainly in areas where water is used for irrigation of agricultural crops.
