Lindsay Vyvey started as the Technical Cooperation Specialist in the IICA Canada office in November 2017. Prior to working with IICA, Lindsay was working as a Plant Health Risk Assessor at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. She conducted risk assessments on invasive plant diseases to estimate the threat that they pose to Canadian agriculture. At IICA, Lindsay will work on the technical cooperation programs of the Canada office. She has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies from McGill University, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Guelph. She also has experience working in educational institutions and on farms, and is an active volunteer on food issues in her local community.

In her own words… “I am very excited to be working with the IICA office in Canada, and I look forward to collaborating with partners across the hemisphere! Having grown up mostly outside of Canada, I am excited to be working again in such an international organization. I believe strongly in the mission and goals of IICA’s technical programs, and I am excited to contribute my passion and experience to this important work!”
