Agriculture and Food Consultative Council Dialogue

On March 1 2018, the Inter-American institute for Cooperation on Agriculture participated on an Agriculture & Food Consultative Council Dialogue in preparation for the upcoming 35th Session of the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).   The dialogue had the participation of stakeholders from the Belize Agriculture Health Authority (BAHA), Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, the Environment, Sustainable Development and Immigration (MAFFESDI), the University of Belize (UB) and Citrus Products of Belize Limited (CPBL).  The dialogue focused on three thematic areas: (i) Eradicating hunger, overweight and obesity (ii) Ending rural poverty (iii) Promoting climate resilient and sustainable agriculture.

IICA’s photo exhibition, which pays tribute to rural men and women in the Americas, is on display at the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development in Seville

The exhibition is composed of 27 photographs taken by photographer Cecilia Duarte (Brazil) and curator Virginia Fabri (Argentina), which tell the stories of peasants, family farmers, medium-sized producers, members of indigenous communities, teachers, students, agents of innovation and technology, and advocates for the empowerment of women and youth from 14 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean
