  • Director General of IICA will begin a visit to France to promote support for agriculture in the Americas

    Manuel Otero, head of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), met with Abdellatif Ghedira, the Executive Director of the International Olive Council, during his final activity in Spain.

  • IICA supports young Caribbean agripreneurs in access to domestic and regional markets

    Pilot project enabled the training of entrepreneurs, from 11 countries, on tools and strategies for market research. Due to its success, it will be replicated in 2019.

  • IICA has improved agricultural and rural inclusion in thirteen Latin American and Caribbean countries

    Over the last three years, the Institute was engaged in a project to assist in developing policies and institutional processes to support the design, implementation and participatory management of inclusive development projects in rural areas.

  • Otero concludes visit to the Eastern Caribbean by meeting with ministers in Saint Lucia

    The Director General of IICA held meetings with the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Physical Planning, Natural Resources and Cooperatives, Ezechiel Joseph; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sarah Flood-Beaubrun; diplomatic missions accredited to Saint Lucia; and the Director General of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Didacus Jules.

  • Otero meets with Grenada’s Prime Minister during a visit to the Eastern Caribbean

    The Director General of IICA met with high-level authorities of the country, during the first leg of a tour in the Eastern Caribbean region, which will include visits to Dominica and Saint Lucia.

  • IICA and the Ibero-American General Secretariat join forces to drive the development of rural women and South-South cooperation

    The partnership was signed by the Director General of the Institute, Manuel Otero, and the Secretary-General of SEGIB, Rebeca Grynspan.
