    To promote public-private collaboration in carrying out audits in the production sector and demonstrate the benefits to producers, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) organized a workshop in Honduras that brought together key actors in agricultural and food safety assurance systems from the host country and Belize.
  • Hand in hand with IICA, the AAPRESID Congress is defining the agenda of agriculture in the Americas

    Boasting a more than three-decade history of interconnecting innovation, technology and knowledge, the Argentine Association of No-Till Farmers (AAPRESID) will meet from 7- 9 August 2024. The event will see leading national and international authorities in the field coming together to discuss and define key issues for the future agenda, linking science and production to agricultural transformation, innovation and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
  • Colombia will host the First Pan-American Summit on Sustainable Aviation Fuels, to be attended by regional leaders and co-organized by IICA

    The summit will bring together different experts and industry leaders to discuss and analyze key issues related to sustainable fuels. The academic agenda will include, among other things, a conference on the evolution of SAF prices compared to those of fossil fuels and trends in raw materials.
  • Agri-Pulse, the most prestigious US media outlet specializing in agriculture, highlights the efforts of IICA and its Director General to bridge food security gaps in the Americas

    The article briefly recounts the history of IICA, founded in 1942 thanks to the vision of Henry Wallace, then Vice President of the United States in the government led by Franklin D. Roosevelt. IICA was founded in the midst of the World War II, when the production and supply crisis created serious problems for the population.
  • Ibero-American veterinary science academies will collaborate with IICA in the dissemination of knowledge to address challenges of antimicrobial resistance in agriculture, under the One Health approach

    IICA's participation in the topic was considered relevant by the most important academics in veterinary sciences from the Ibero-American countries, who met at the Institute's headquarters in San José, Costa Rica, at a conference organized by the Ibero-American Association of Academies of Veterinary Sciences (AIACIVET).
