One of the objectives of the Family Agriculture Plan of El Salvador is to provide 16,000 farmers with training in ways to increase productivity. IICA fully supports this ambitious initiative.

FAO, IICA and ECLAC document summarizes the conclusions of four dialogues held in the Southern Cone, Central America, the Caribbean and Mexico to discuss ways to promote agriculture and make those who earn their livelihoods in agriculture less vulnerable.

With technical support from IICA, the ambitious Family Agriculture Plan aims to afford thousands of small farmers access to the country’s domestic food market.

Internet users throughout the world can participate in the virtual congress spearheaded by IICA and the Ministry of Agricultural Development of Brazil, as a means of contributing to the discussions of the Rio+20 Conference to be held in June of this year.

Thanks to an agreement signed by IICA and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Dominican Republic, and funded by the USDA, the quarantine services of that county and Haiti will be strengthened.

The findings will be presented at the Second Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development, to be held in October.
