“Liquid biofuels in the energy and climate transition: policymaking and new technologies” is one of the virtual training courses offered by the IICA Innovation and Bioeconomy Program. It was developed with support from the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) and the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE).

IICA was invited by the Brazilian presidency to participate in the G20 Global Initiative on Bioeconomy meetings that began this month. The mission of these meetings is to agree on High-Level Principles on Bioeconomy, which will be included in the Rio Declaration to be adopted by the Heads of State and Government at the end of the year.

The presentation took place in a webinar during the so-called Pre-Week of Digital Agriculture, a discussion forum that serves as the official launch and preview of the topics to be addressed in September at IICA’s headquarters in San Jose, Costa Rica, during the third edition of Digital Agriculture Week (DAW).

Digital technology provides extremely useful tools to diagnose and mitigate the impacts of droughts, reveals a study presented by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in preparation for the third edition of Digital Agriculture Week (DAW 2024), which will take place next September.

At the G20 Global Initiative on Bioeconomy, the member countries, IICA and other invited international organizations are expected to discuss and agree on the guiding principles of the bioeconomy to subsequently build joint work agendas.
