  • Professionals from the Caribbean are certified as instructors in food safety preventive controls

    A total of 33 food safety professionals from Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago were certified by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA). The training was organized by the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U. S. Department of Agriculture, the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).

  • G20 will tackle obstacles to the achievement of global food security

    In June, the leaders of the G20 will discuss the recommendations made by the Vice-Ministers of Agriculture and other entities such as IICA for strengthening the agricultural sector and increasing its contribution to food production worldwide.

  • Dominican Republic and Haiti to increase sanitary controls

    Thanks to an agreement signed by IICA and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Dominican Republic, and funded by the USDA, the quarantine services of that county and Haiti will be strengthened.

    The document will be ready in October and will be presented in InterAmerican Board of Agriculture (IABA) to be held in Mexico.
