At the invitation of IICA, business leaders from Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru met in Bogotá to promote joint efforts to exploit trade opportunities. They also backed the creation of a Forum of Ministers of Agriculture of the Pacific Region, as a potentially valuable mechanism for boosting trade.

IICA’s Director General addresses the CAS and signs an agreement with Chile to contribute to the development of the Araucanía region

The Ministers of Agriculture of the Southern Agricultural Council (CAS) member countries endorsed the convening of a meeting of the Inter-American Board of Agriculture (IABA) in October. IICA committed to support the efforts of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay in the area of associativity and to assist in the production and territorial development of Chile’s Araucanía region.

Member States express strong support for IICA’s institutional work during OAS Permanent Council session
