    Chile will arrive at COP28 with an increasingly sustainable dairy sector and, together with IICA, the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) and Dairy Management Incorporated (DMI), shares good practices with Latin America

    The pilot program began in 2022, and today there are more than three hundred dairy farms that have voluntarily completed the self-assessment process regarding the sustainability of their operations.

    The IICA Director General gave the Latin American and Caribbean ambassadors to the United Arab Emirates a preview of the pavilion that will represent the region’s agriculture sector at COP28

    IICA, the governments of its 34 Member States and its strategic private sector partners will establish a venue at COP28 to host high-level discussions on the role of regional agriculture in mitigation and adaptation efforts.

    The introduction of digital technologies is, undoubtedly, a prerequisite for transforming agrifood systems and making them more sustainable and resilient in the face of climate change. These technologies enable stakeholders to make much more efficient use of external inputs and natural resources, thus helping to reduce environmental impacts.
  • IICA, its 34 Member States and strategic partners from the private sector will install the Home of Sustainable Agriculture of the Americas pavilion at COP28, ratifying the sector’s commitment to tackling climate change

    The pavilion at COP28 is a joint effort between IICA and its partners, aimed at generating new international partnerships to fund, accelerate or scale up the implementation of contributions to climate change mitigation and adaptation.

    Over one hundred women involved in agriculture and natural resource management in Costa Rica strengthened their digital and geospatial technology skills at IICA Headquarters

    Since 2019, the GeoFem: Women in Geospatial Technologies (Rally Femenino) workshops organized by IICA and its international partners have provided empowerment and training in innovation technology for more than 500 women. The most recent workshop was co-organized with SERVIR – a joint NASA and USAID initiative.
