    This was agreed upon during a meeting with the Secretary of Bioeconomy, Fernando Vilella, who expressed interest in the role that Leaders of Rurality can play as positive examples in their territories to strengthen rural ties and the sustainability of production and he committed to developing a joint agenda.

  • Leaders of Rurality of the Americas recognized by IICA were received at the Ministry of Agriculture of Chile

    IICA launched the Leaders of Rurality of the Americas initiative in 2021 to recognize and give visibility to those who, through their daily work, fulfill a dual, irreplaceable role: being guarantors of food and nutritional security while also safeguarding the planet's biodiversity.

    “Liquid biofuels in the energy and climate transition: policymaking and new technologies” is one of the virtual training courses offered by the IICA Innovation and Bioeconomy Program. It was developed with support from the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) and the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE).

    Agriculture is the key sector for solving the environmental crisis, stated scientist Rattan Lal, IICA Goodwill Ambassador, at the G20

    IICA was invited by the Brazilian presidency to participate in the G20 Global Initiative on Bioeconomy meetings that began this month. The mission of these meetings is to agree on High-Level Principles on Bioeconomy, which will be included in the Rio Declaration to be adopted by the Heads of State and Government at the end of the year.
