  • Science, technology and innovation is the cornerstone of agrifood system transformation, say international experts and authorities, attending a meeting at IICA Headquarters

    More than 100 specialists have come together for this event - the Regional Dialogue on Science, Technology and Innovation in Agrifood Systems of Latin America and the Caribbean, including representatives from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, CGIAR (a global research partnership for a food-secure future, dedicated to transforming food, land, and water systems in a climate crisis), the World Bank, FAO, IICA and other international organizations.
  • International experts will meet in Costa Rica to discuss ways to enhance the contribution of science, technology and innovation to the sustainability and competitiveness of agrifood systems of the Americas

    More than 100 specialists from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, CGIAR, the World Bank, IICA, FAO and CIRAD, among other international agencies, will participate in the high-level dialogue.

    Officials of the ministries of Agriculture of various nations in the hemisphere were participating in a meeting of IICA’s Special Advisory Commission on Management Issues (SAMCI), in which they called for increased collaboration to tackle the challenges facing humanity, while underscoring the decisive role of the Americas in bolstering global food security and natural resource conservation.
