Expo Mango 2017 Fair
The Expo Mango 2017 Fair was held from June 14 to 18 in the city of Baní, called the Mango Capital. In a press conference, the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Ángel Estévez assured that in 10 years the country would be able to multiply up to five times the number of mangoes it exports, as the Dominican Republic is currently among the top 20 Exporting countries.
For his part, Rafael Leger, President of the Cluster of Mango, highlighted the potential of local producers with a view to exports of fruit, as mango is currently the third fruit of local export and with possible increase thanks to the great international demand.
Given this significant progress in this fruit chain, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) continues to support this activity because of the high level of importance it represents for the country.
