IICA and CEDAF perform Workshop on Sacha Inchi

Within the context of the Framework Cooperation Agreement between IICA and the Center for Agricultural and Forestry Development, Inc. (CEDAF) of the Dominican Republic, it was held a workshop on the Cultivation of Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) as an option for the Dominican Republic.

The workshop was given by Ing. Carlos Blair Loría, Oilseed Specialist and creator of the Agribusiness enterprise platform in Costa Rica.

 

Within the context of the Framework Cooperation Agreement between IICA and the Center for Agricultural and Forestry Development, Inc. (CEDAF) of the Dominican Republic, it was held a workshop on the Cultivation of Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) as an option for the Dominican Republic.

The workshop was given by Ing. Carlos Blair Loría, Oilseed Specialist and creator of the Agribusiness enterprise platform in Costa Rica.

Both Mr. Frank Lam, IICA Representative, as Mr. Pedro Pablo Peña, Executive Director of CEDAF.; expressed their satisfaction that the two institutions join efforts and develop joint activities for national agricultural and incentivize the production of novel crops with Sacha Inchi.

The activity was held on the 28th and 29th of last September, 2016 in the halls of CEDAF and then a field trip to see the plantations established by producers. In both activities involving members of the Association of Sacha Inchi Producers of the Province of Monte Plata, also representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and public and private institutions; as agricultural professionals in the country.
