This workshop strengthens the capacities of producers to improve national seed production

From July 9 to 11, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) held the workshop on Good Coffee Seed Production Practices, within the framework of the activities of the Dominican Republic Component of the Central American Program for Integral Management of La Roya del Café, (PROCAGICA-RD.
In the workshop, 35 technicians, seed producers and coffee plant producers were trained, who developed skill to manage the tools necessary for the implementation of Good Coffee Seed Production Practices (variety selection, area selection of farm, selection of mother plant, among others). The international certification specialist Federico Quirós facilitated the workshop. The activity had a theoretical component developed in Santo Domingo, and a practical part in the seeds experimental production farm, in La Descubierta, Constanza.
