The tool for the evaluation of Performance, Vision and Strategy (DVE) is an instrument to strengthen the services of Agricultural Health and Food Safety at the national level

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, April 2018 (IICA). Within the framework of the Project to Support the Competitive Agri-Food Transition (PATCA) executed by the Ministry of Agriculture, through the Project Executing Office (EPO), the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) provided technical support for the application of the evaluation tool known as DVE (Performance, Vision and Strategy).

In a workshop held on April 24th, 25th and 26th, specialists in Agricultural Health and Food Safety of IICA applied this tool to technicians from the public and private sectors linked to the subject of health and safety; as well as representatives of several universities in the country.

With the application of this evaluation tool, it is sought to help the country to establish and improve the performance of the national agricultural health and food safety services and allow them to create a common vision between the public and private sectors on the future performance and establish priorities in its strategic planning.

During the three days of the workshop, some forms and interviews with the various management levels of the National Organization for Phytosanitary Protection at the central level, technicians and specialists of the official services were being applied; as well as the private sector linked to the issue of agricultural health and safety.
