IICA visits School in Belmopan with Gardening Program

School feeding programs in Belize are using a more holistic and integrated approach of establishing gardens to produce fruits and vegetables to supply to the kitchen for consumption by the schoolchildren.  It is in this context that the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture along with the Horticulture unit of the Ministry of Agriculture are working together on establishing a school garden at one of the primary schools in the city of Belmopan.

Bayer and IICA strengthen partnership and explore new lines of work to enhance agricultural sustainability in the Americas

The partnership between the two entities has allowed for training more than 300 farmers in Colombia, Ecuador and Paraguay, as well as more than 534 online participants, as part of the training and prevention line of work.
