The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in collaboration with the Secretariat of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) will be convening the Regional IPPC Workshop 2015 for the Caribbean to be held in Trinidad and Tobago during September 29 – October 1, 2015, at the Hyatt Regency and Conference Centre, Port of Spain.
The purpose of this workshop is to develop capacity in a range of areas related to the IPPC. This will include learning how to analyse draft International Standards on Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs) and to formulate productive comments using the examples of draft ISPMs for member consultation in 2015, to build phytosanitary capacity and raise awareness on all activities related to the IPPC and to exchange experiences at the regional level. Participants from 13 Caribbean countries are expected to attend the workshop.
