Convocados por el IICA, los actores del sector público y privado conmemoraron el Día Mundial de los Suelos, que se celebra cada 5 de diciembre, con la finalidad de llamar la atención sobre su importancia decisiva para sostener todas las formas de vida en el planeta. En la ocasión también se hizo un repaso de los logros del primer año del programa “Suelos Vivos de las Américas”, lanzado en diciembre de 2020 por el IICA junto al Centro de Manejo y Secuestro de Carbono (C-MASC) de la Universidad Estatal de Ohio, que dirige el laureado científico Rattan Lal.
