Ottawa, Canada, June 2026 – The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) Delegation in Canada has been holding a series of bilateral meetings with embassies, high commissions and diplomatic representatives from Member States across the Americas and the Caribbean accredited in Canada. The initiative aims to strengthen institutional relations, foster dialogue and identify opportunities for collaboration on shared agricultural and development priorities.

Dr. Jean-Charles Le Vallée, IICA Country Representative in Canada, and His Excellency, Carlos Arturo Morales, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to Canada.

Held at both diplomatic missions and IICA Canada’s offices in Ottawa, the meetings have provided an opportunity to present the Institute’s recent activities and projects in Canada, while highlighting ongoing cooperation initiatives across the Hemisphere. Discussions have focused on areas of mutual interest and on ways to support Member States’ priorities in agriculture, food security, innovation, sustainability and rural development.

The exchanges have reinforced the value of sustained dialogue with diplomatic partners and helped raise awareness of IICA’s technical cooperation work throughout the Americas. As the specialized agency for agriculture of the Inter-American System, IICA works closely with its 34 Member States to advance agricultural development, rural well-being and food security, while fostering collaboration around shared regional priorities.
