The ministers expressed their support in a meeting of the Southern Agricultural Council (CAS, in Spanish). They also requested that IICA prepare a report on the sustainability of livestock production systems in the region and agreed to mobilize “all technical and diplomatic resources” to ensure that the voice of South America is heard at the UN Food Systems Summit. The Director General of IICA offered to establish linkages between the Andean Region, Caribbean, Central America and North America to help unify their position.

"We will be self-sufficient in coffee and we will export this product again," he said. Major support was also given to the fruit growing sector.
