European Union, IICA and the Forest Conservation Institute (ICF) unite efforts to support ā€œLiving Forests of Hondurasā€

IICA creates Special Fund to support the efforts of Caribbean nations to reduce food imports and strengthen the resilience of the agriculture sectorĀ 

The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) will create a Special Fund for the Caribbean to promote initiatives and actions aimed at assisting countries in the region in meeting the goal of reducing their multi-million dollar food import bill by 25% by 2025.

John Hunte, a promoter of healthy food production in Barbados for farmers and consumers, is honored by IICA as a “Leader of Rurality of the Americas.”

Hunte was one of the founders of the Organic Growers and Consumers Association (OGCA), established in 1998 to promote the production of food certified for being free of chemicals such as fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides.
