The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Colombia, Martha Carvajalino, attended the Executive Committee Meeting of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Costa Rica on Tuesday. Eight agricultural ministers and six deputy ministers of the Americas attended the session, where the hemispheric organization announced that it would strengthen technical actions to benefit rural areas, producers and small farmers in the country.

A free, transparent international trade based on rules and science is indispensable for ensuring global food security and mitigating the imbalances between the natural resources available in different regions of the world, experts warned during a panel on the global agricultural trade situation and the positioning of the continentās countries. Boasting a more than three-decade history of interconnecting innovation, technology and knowledge, the Argentine Association of No-Till Farmers (AAPRESID) will meet from 7- 9 August 2024.
