AIC 2016 – Disseminating Agricultural Research- Bridging the Gap between Idea and Adoption

Tiempo de lectura: 3 mins.

Members of IICA’s delegation in Canada participated in the AIC 2016 National conference on the dissemination of agricultural research and innovation organized by the Agricultural Institute of Canada (AIC)

Ottawa, Canada. Conference participants had the opportunity to examine different ways to facilitate sharing agricultural results and maximizing the adoption of new technologies and innovation.

Acknowledging that agricultural research has increasingly become a shared responsibility among actors in the public and private sectors, the program was designed to clearly elucidate how researchers, governments, industry and other key players in the value chain can ensure that research results and their applications can be communicated to a much broader audience. These new models of partnership emphasize the need for improved communication schemes and broad dissemination strategies.

Participants therefore explored among other themes, policy opportunities and strategies associated with the effective transfer of technical information and knowledge to the public.
