IICA Play is a new tool for reducing digital and education divides. Producers across the hemisphere will have access to more than one hundred videos with technical and educational content related to agriculture, ranging from the efficient use of natural resources to methods of treating plant health diseases.

A project by IICA and the Ministry of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources of Ecuador allowed for consolidating this business undertaking in the field of bioeconomy, which will be operated by pine-nut producers in the province of Manabí.

In collaboration with Argentina, a project will be implemented in these countries to generate best practices for the entire beekeeping industry in the Caribbean.

The Director General of the IICA participated on Seminar in Buenos Aires. Participants at the event analyzed the contribution of agriculture to climate change mitigation and the manner in which countries of the Southern Cone contribute to improving the net carbon balance of soils.

The forum, which can be accessed at ruralwomen.iica.int, will provide an information- and data-sharing platform to raise awareness about the inequalities faced by these women, in a bid to pave the way for actions that guarantee equity.

The Director General of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), Manuel Otero, delivered a presentation during the 49th Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), calling on the organization to serve as a discussion forum for matters related to food and nutrition security on the continent.
