The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture IICA Delegation in Belize held is accountability seminar on June 22, 2017 at the Administrative and Technical Services Conference Room at the National Agriculture and Trade Showgrounds, in Belmopan, Belize.   This annual event held provides an opportunity for the IICA office to reflect on the process that the office has made over the past year. Over 50 persons attended the seminar including the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, Environment, Sustainable Development and Immigration, Hon. Senator Godwin Hulse, and Chief Executive Officer Jose Alpuche. Hon. Senator Godwin Hulse delivered the key note address; in his address the Minister recognized the important work of IICA as a key partner of the Ministry in the development of the agriculture sector in Belize.    Other participants included many of the stakeholders with whom IICA works in close collaboration such as the technical officers of the Ministry of Agriculture, International Organizations, other development partners and private and civil society stakeholders. The highlights of progress made in 2016 was presented by Gabriel Rodríguez Marqués, the Country Representative. He underlined main areas in which IICA will work close with the Ministry of Agriculture, farmers and our stakeholders; such as institutional strengthening, competitive and sustainability of agricultural chains for food security and economic development, capacity building, knowledge management and training.
