As a result, the Delegation in Canada was engaged in a plethora of actions. A total of 33 food safety professionals from Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago were certified by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA). The training was organized by the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U. S. Department of Agriculture, the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).

Taking place on the heels of the news that the Government of Canada will remove its permanent objector status to the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the workshop jointly hosted by PROCINORTE/NORGEN Task Force, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the University of Laval, was very timely.
