It took two years to produce a companion publication showcasing the 20 works by Mexican artist Cruzgaali, which are accompanied by essays on aspects of agriculture and rural life across the continent.

Villalobos recently discussed the results of his two terms as Director General to a gathering in Costa Rica of 32 delegations from the region's ministries of agriculture.

With support from IICA and AUSAID, six rural villages in the hinterland of Suriname now have access to potable water through the installation of rainwater harvesting systems.

Ministers from thirty-four countries in the hemisphere will meet at IICA Headquarters to be informed of the results achieved by the Institute over the last eight years and to elect a new Director General.  

Under a new organizational model, this hemispheric organization established its work priorities in order to support research and technological development in agriculture.

The Institute was invited to be part of the jury in the fourth edition of the Green Latin America Awards, which honors environmental innovation in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals.
