  • New Representative for the Belize Delegation

    On March 24, 2017 Dr. Gabriel Rodriguez Marques a citizen of Uruguay assumed the position as our country Representative.  Dr. Rodríguez Marqués is no stranger to this Delegation since he was country representative during the period 2009 to 2010.  Dr. Rodriguez Marques was transferred to IICA Panama then to the IICA El Salvador.

     

  • Farmer Field School in Beekeeping

    Along with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ya’axche Conservation Trust (YCT) and IICA the second phase in building capacities in the farmer field school (FFS) methodology was spearheaded in Southern Belize.

  • IICA Supports the Institutional Strengthening of the PCB

    The Pesticides Control Board (PCB), who is the agency responsible for regulating pesticides in the country, presented its first five-year Strategic Plan 2017-2021 to its stakeholders at an official launch in April 2017. 

  • Climate Smart System for Livestock

    During the last week of March, the Delegation participated in a 4-day technical mission together with the Belize Livestock Producers Association (BLPA), the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change(MAFFESDCC), IICA, CATIE and the IDB MIF.  

     

  • 97TH Annual General Meeting Belize Chamber of Commerce

    The 97th Annual General Meeting of the Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry was held on Thursday, April 27th, at the Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina. The President Mr. Nikita Usher gave an overview and reported on his mid-term activities.

    The NATS is the annual event that brings the agriculture sector in Belize in one single location, either displaying their products, services or providing overall information on the sector. This year it was held, from April 28th to 30th, under the theme, “Lets Get Growing”.
