In Washington, Director General of IICA and USDA agree to support participation of the agriculture sector in climate negotiations
Under Secretary Taylor and Otero also touched on the subject of gender and the Director General invited Taylor to the Forum of Female Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Agriculture of the Americas, which will meet again this year.

The ministers and secretaries of agriculture of the member countries pledged to continue promoting the development of sustainable practices and technologies and, in particular, to disseminate already existing, effective regional technologies that make production systems more resilient and facilitate adaptation to climate-related challenges.
FONTAGRO and IICA launch contest for successful bioeconomy experiences in Latin America and the Caribbean
The contest will be open from 1 February to 16 June 2023. Awards will be given to the following categories: producers’ associations and other private-sector organizations, including NGOs, that work with LAC producers; LAC science and technology institutions and organizations; and the LAC public sector (at all levels).

She has come a long way since then in private sector work and public service, taking her to the highest levels of decision-making and responsibility. For instance, she was Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for three years.-

SENASICA and IICA endorse partnership to protect agriculture sector in Mexico and the Americas
At a meeting with IICA Director General Manuel Otero and IICA’s Representative in Mexico, Diego Montenegro Ernst, SENASICA Director in Chief Javier Calderón Elizalde said that the partnership has been vital in protecting the agriculture sector in Mexico and throughout the Americas, and in strengthening the safe production and trade of healthy and safe foods.
