  • IICA, RedBioLAC and WISIONS of Sustainability launch course to promote biodigestion technologies in Ibero-America

    To promote the use of biodigestion technologies, share successful experiences, and promote public policies to advance towards sustainable agrifood systems, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the Network for Biodigesters in Latin America and the Caribbean (RedBioLAC) and the WISIONS of Sustainability Program, which operates under the aegis of Germany’s Wuppertal Institute, have launched the course “Application of biodigestion for the agroecological and bioeconomic transformation of agrifood systems in Ibero-America.”
  • Argentine Leaders of Rurality recognized by IICA agree on a joint work plan to strengthen cooperatives and family farming with the Secretary of Bioeconomy

    This was agreed upon during a meeting with the Secretary of Bioeconomy, Fernando Vilella, who expressed interest in the role that Leaders of Rurality can play as positive examples in their territories to strengthen rural ties and the sustainability of production and he committed to developing a joint agenda.
  • Argentine corn and sorghum producers underscore the importance of innovation in addressing agricultural challenges, at a massive congress in Buenos Aires with participation of IICA

    Over 3,000 people attended the annual congress of MAIZAR, the Argentine Corn and Sorghum Association, which served as a forum for debate and exchange of ideas and experiences under the theme "Unleashing Our Collective Talent."
  • Leaders of Rurality of the Americas recognized by IICA were received at the Ministry of Agriculture of Chile

    IICA launched the Leaders of Rurality of the Americas initiative in 2021 to recognize and give visibility to those who, through their daily work, fulfill a dual, irreplaceable role: being guarantors of food and nutritional security while also safeguarding the planet's biodiversity.
  • Farmers in the Maule region of Chile trust in bioinputs to improve their production

    The initiative is supported by the Hemispheric Bioinputs Platform, in which IICA is heavily involved.
